You’re probably wondering who’s behind the curtain.

I’ve been called many things over the years: Joust, Joist, José. The funniest was when a peer in the Boy Scouts read my last name for the first time and, with some trepidation, asked: “Ghost?” That moment would haunt me for years until someone called me that again, but for a very different reason.

My name is Daniel A. Jost III, and I’m a Public Relations expert by day who writes in the style of pretty much anyone I need to impersonate (professionally). By night, I continue the skills that I’ve honed in my day job to help dioceses, nonprofits, tech wizards and global NGOs craft the perfect message using the best name of all: yours.

So if you’re looking for a freelancer to moonlight away your campaign deadlines, daunting projects you’ve been putting off for some time or simply want to show off your rarely-used fountain pen on a final draft of your magnum opus that was actually written by yours truly, look no further.

And if you’re not convinced by this small block on my main page, I’ve got a catalogue of completed works for you to peruse. Once you’re done, it’ll be time to click the button below.

I’ll do the writing and you get the words that you’ve been looking for.

Your general purpose verbiage that you might use to direct a client to a new product, send a cleverly-worded eblast or head a stewardship initiative. Copywriting is the backbone of sales and marketing in the digital age. It compliments the visual images your graphic designer created and zeroes in on what you need, when you need it most.

Process

Whether it’s a book, a website or a single donor letter, here’s how we’ll move from blank page to finished piece — no detours, I promise.

1. Meet &
Listen

Every project begins with a conversation — your goals, your audience, your voice. I ask thoughtful questions, take careful notes and get a feel for how you speak before I ever start writing as you.

2. dig &
outline

Before a single sentence takes shape, I research the details — background, source material, structure — and chart a path so nothing gets lost along the way.

3. Write &
Refine

This is where the magic happens. I draft, you weigh in and we refine together until every word feels unmistakably yours.

4. deliver &
Linger

You receive the final piece, polished and ready to publish — and I don’t just disappear once it’s turned in. I’m here for edits, future pieces or whatever comes next.

Hire a Ghost

Someone wrote that memorable line for Sudden Impact, and it sure as heck wasn’t Clint Eastwood. It was a man named Joseph Stinson, but you’ve probably never heard of him unless you’re a serious movie geek. Remember when Queen Elizabeth II passed away and immediately a letter was released from King Charles III? I can tell you from firsthand experience he did not write that — his ghostwriter did. Emulate the greats and work with me to enshrine iconic messages in the mind of your audience. Pick a time in the calendar to start with a quick discovery call. I promise not to ghost you.
